The Infamous Masterson’s , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I discovered behind its walls was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
The State of Affairs: Filthy and Disregarded
From the moment I walked in , it was apparent that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The ground was covered in grime , and a pungent odor of old alcohol and dirty bathrooms suffused the entire establishment . Reeking of a mixture of excrement , a rotting odor and a sickly smell. The counter , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and refuse that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The bathroom was in even more deplorable shape — spilling over , with a snapped lever and walls stained in what I can only assume was fecal matter .
